Little by Little
“I will drive them out before you little by little, until you have increased and are strong enough to take possession of the land.” Exodus 23:30 AMP
Let’s be honest—adding a new habit or changing a behavior can be challenging, frustrating, and often defeating. Why can’t I lose weight? Why can’t I obey my alarm? Why can’t I eat more veggies? Why can’t I exercise consistently?
God is a God of little by little. Small, consistent behaviors, repeated daily, give us strength until we fully possess the habit. Remember the Israelites gathering manna? God provided exactly what they needed each day, but they had to consistently get up, go out, and gather their daily bread—it didn’t just appear on their dinner table.
Creating new habits often seems daunting. But, what would happen if we repeated just one thing each and every day? Small, consistent steps lead to big changes over time. Focus on one habit, one small step, and repeat it daily. You might be surprised at how much you can achieve.
